How do I run a countdown offer on WhatsApp on Tekmatix?
"Offer ends soon" is easy to ignore. A clock ticking down in the message, with a discount code you can copy in one tap, is a lot harder to scroll past.
Tekmatix now has a Limited time offer template type for WhatsApp. WhatsApp shows a live countdown in the message, and your discount code sits underneath with a one-tap copy button. You set the expiry each time you send, so one approved template can run lots of campaigns.
Go to Settings, then WhatsApp, then Templates, then Create template. Set Category to Marketing and Type to Limited time offer, then add your heading, image, body, discount code and URL. Submit it for approval. When you send it, choose the expiry for that campaign.
What a limited time offer template is
It's a WhatsApp marketing template built for time-limited deals. Here's how it works:
- A live countdown. WhatsApp draws the countdown clock in the message itself, and it turns red in the final hour.
- A copy-code button. Your discount code sits under the countdown with a button that copies it in one tap.
- A link button. The template also has a URL button, so people can go straight to your offer. WhatsApp requires both buttons, so neither can be removed.
- Expiry set at send time. You choose when the offer ends each time you send, so one approved template can be reused for many campaigns without new approval.
- Send it from almost anywhere. You can send it from conversations, bulk actions, workflows and calendar sends.

How to create a limited time offer template
- Open your WhatsApp templatesGo to Settings, then WhatsApp, then Templates, then click Create template.
- Choose the category and typeSet Category to Marketing and Type to Limited time offer.
- Add your offerAdd the offer heading, an image header, the message body, your discount code and the URL you want people to visit.
- Submit for approvalSubmit the template for WhatsApp approval, the same as any other template.
- Set the expiry when you sendEach time you send the template, choose when the offer expires for that campaign.
Double-check your deadline before you hit send. If you send with an expiry that has already passed, WhatsApp still accepts the message, and the chat simply shows the offer as expired. That's an awkward message to send your whole list, so check the date and time before every bulk send.
What your customers see
Your customers get a WhatsApp message with your image and heading at the top, a live countdown showing how long the offer has left, and your discount code with a button to copy it. Below that is a button that takes them to your offer. In the final hour, the countdown turns red. Once the expiry passes, the chat shows the offer as expired.
Test it before you send to your list.
Once your template is approved, send it to your own number from a conversation with an expiry a few hours away. Check the countdown shows, the copy button copies the right code, and the URL button opens the right page. Then go through checkout with the code to make sure the discount applies.
